Youth Alcohol Intervention program?

I’m going to one of three classes, four hours long, tonight. Have you ever been through one of these programs? What do you do there? Just trying to understand what we’re going to be doing in the classes.

I have never been to one either, but I have had friends who were members of AA and they would go to these at times talk to kids about drinking. I think it is similar to an AA meeting where the alcoholics get up and give a talk about their drinking days and how it effected them and how they came to be in AA.

The idea is to scare the youth so much that you will not want to drink. We had something similar with smoking when I was in high school back in the 1960’s where they showed pictures of lungs filled with cancer and we would go to the smoking area right after and talk about how gross that was and how we were going to quit all the while puffing on a smoke.

You are a model. Teens are watching you and how you handle crisis situations in your life. alcohol intervention programs They look at your problem solving skills and often times use them as their own. So if you solve your problems with alcohol, they may do the same.
