Alcohol Intervention help
How can I get off alcohol without joining any groups, are there any ideas to help me?
I don’t drink that much, but once every day or every other day for a limited time, enough to get a buzz or drunk. Then I end up taking time off from work if I’m too tired to go in and I got a warning that I might get fired which would be devestating!! How can I drink less often without going to AA or other interventions?
I’m an Alcoholic. I’ve never been to an AA meeting, but I’ve found that online “AA” chat rooms are helpful. The best one I’ve found is http://www.aaonline.net/chat2/guests.php Chatting online with others is different than sitting in a real life meeting. Just talking to others who may be in similar situations sometimes opens up your eyes. What you are asking is not an easy thing. The only advice that I can give about your quitting or slowing down is to change your routine. What ever activity you are doing while you are drinking, change it to a different one and hopefully the alcohol won’t be invited to it. But the reality of the situation is that you have to really really want to quit/slow down. Nothing anyone says will do anything to help you drink less unless you yourself are totally committed to it. I wish I had a magic answer to your question, but alcohol is sneaky and it takes every opportunity it can.
You are a model. Teens are watching you and how you handle crisis situations in your life. alcohol intervention help They look at your problem solving skills and often times use them as their own. So if you solve your problems with alcohol, they may do the same.
