why does my probaton officer want a DNA sample?
I’m on probation in Ohio. I was charged with a felony drug charge, it was my first time in trouble and I’m completing a program called intervention in lieu of conviction. All my charges will be dismissed when I complete all my therapy & pay fines, etc. My PO is submitting my paperwork to the judge to have me released from probation and she’s asking for the DNA sample.
Because invasive and controlling behavior, as well as ridiculous paranoia are routine procedure in anything having to do with the US govt … most esp the justice system of this hypocritical country. If a judge orders it, then you wont be able to really fight it … without being subject to penalties and punishment.
Varies greatly depending on the exact jurisdiction involved. Though you could resist until such time as they show you a legal basis for requiring that information from you. Govt entities are more than happy to get you to voluntarily waive whatever rights you have. They have no problem using intimidation to mislead you into doing so to get you to comply … even if they truly have no legal basis for it.
Once you’ve been classified as a deviate in the US, it’s pretty much open season on you and decency takes a back seat to any other considerations.
