For anyone who deals with truancy?
ok so ive already been to court for this in front of a juvenile jude person and she told me i had one of two options probation or a tip camp so i chose the tip camp tip= Truancy intervention program and i was wondering if im going to be drug tested while im there because i didnt have to get drug tested while i was at the court hearing because i do smoke pot and i know its bad but anyways its my first offence to the court its my first truancy offence. and basicly all im asking is will i be drug tested or not?
I don’t know if you will be drug tested while there, but I would think that you would be. They are going to try to figure out why you are not going to school, so that they can find ways to make sure that you do go. If you are just sitting around smoking pot and are too zoned out to go to school they might figure it out.
I hope the program works. In my state a child can be placed on probation for violation of a court order to attend school each and every day. If they violate that probation they could be placed in a placement outside of their home. That means in foster care, or in a secure facility where your decision whether or not to go to school will be made for you by the staff.
If your parents can’t make you go to school they could loose the right to have you stay in their home. It is up to you.
On the other hand, if you want to get out of the house, just keep skipping school, and you could end up in a “Juvie Prison”.
